A Note From the Coach

Life is very interesting right now.

I am in the last week of my son's vacation and will be taking him home this coming weekend. It's been a blast hanging out with him and just sharing time and space together.

As my time with my loved ones is precious, I have been sticking to my business hours and ensuring our fun time is protected. It's interesting to note that I seem to get the same important things done even though I am limiting my time in my office.

I intend to maintain this practice after my son returns home as I really enjoy having more balance in my life and doing things I love to do.

Nobody ever said on their death-bed "I wish I had spent more time in my office."

I am committed to enjoying my life as much as possible and include this dimension in my vision. As my friend Carrie Wilkerson says "Your 'why' is not about the money."

Trusting the Process

The success journey is a fascinating one. When you get a taste of what is possible, and that YOU can achieve incredible things, you will never be the same again.

It is easy to find yourself overwhelmed with all the great information – the books, audios, videos, courses, etc. Where do you start? Which ones are the best use of your time and money?

After a while, you will settle on a core philosophy & strategy, and you will focus on that as the mainstay of your journey toward the prize that is yours.

Although you know & understand the process, do you really trust it?

I heard a neat story a few years ago that epitomized it for me:

Imagine you are at the bottom of a ravine, looking up. Stretched across the opening at the top is a tightrope. Each morning, a little, old man gets on the tightrope with a wheelbarrow, crosses the ravine and then comes back the other way on the rope. You witness this event every morning for two weeks.

Faith says that you KNOW he will make it across & back on the tightrope with the wheelbarrow. Trust is YOU sitting in the wheelbarrow when he does it.

Makes you think doesn’t it?

It is easy to be passionate about concepts like Law of Attraction, Abundance, etc. when things are going well for you.

Life being life, there will always be some unexpected events occurring that require your attention.

If you find yourself getting overwhelmed, do you trust the process you are following, or do you default back your old way of doing things?

If you are trusting, and you are clear on where your journey is going, you KNOW that you are going to get to where you want to be and that unexpected events are not going to impede you.

Granted, you may need to shift your focus a little to take care of things, albeit not at the expense of being in your focused space.

This may feel a little counter-intuitive and it does take a little practice to be able to stay the course and keep close to the principles of the process that you are following.

If you allow yourself to get sidetracked and you shift into your old patterns, getting back into your preferred space and regaining momentum can be interesting.

Have you ever had a regular activity, like exercising, and felt that there is no way you are going to break this routine? And, when something unexpected happened that interrupted your routine, you found yourself out of it and back to your old habits?

If you have had an experience like that – as I have – it is simply a part of the human experience.

The journey of learning and self-discovery is a fascinating one. It becomes even more empowering when you actually embrace the concepts and shift your default thinking.

It is one think to know & understand a process. It is something else to embrace it, live it and trust it.

When you are clear on the process & philosophies that you want your journey to follow, stay connected to it. Reinforce your understanding and practice of the process by interacting with like-minded people and coaches. Notice what your thought process is when something not-quite-right occurs. Do you default to your old process or do you stay true to your course and apply your new process?

Although true faith does not require proof, successes can greatly assist your experience, belief and trust in a process. If you have yet to receive the results that you desire, and you just know that you are on the right path, then you are in a space of trust.
