I recently participated in a recording for a soon-to be-released CD that focuses on gaining and giving family support. All of the participants on the project have deep insights based upon their own life experience and having a supportive partner in their life. It was apparent to me that the foundation of this deep, supportive relationship is communication. We all know how to communicate to our customers, team members and prospects. How many of us practice those same skills with the most important person in our life? How would your relationship be different if you communicated with your partner the way you do a customer or prospect? Makes you think doesn't it? There are times when we get a little overwhelmed with everything that is going on and we start to see more of the problems than we do the solutions. When you are in a relationship and you are starting to experience some 'not quite rights', it is easy to get caught up in what the other person is doing, or not doing, to contribute to the problem. This mindset can quickly lead to resentments and take you down a path that will not serve anyone. Ever notice that 1 thing that upsets you overshadows all of the good things around you? In our relationships, that equates to allowing 1 thing we see as an issue to offset everything that is positive, attractive, loving, etc. How fair is that to the most important person in your life? Just because our partner is doing things differently than us does not mean that they are doing anything wrong. No matter what the situation, I find that when I maintain a focus on all the great qualities my significant other has, all the reasons why I love her and all the things that I know to be true, it keeps me out of finger-pointing & negativity and provides a basis for me to communicate that which I may be concerned about. Life happens, and not everything is smooth sailing. When I stay focused on the positives and where I want this journey to take us, it allows me to look beyond the occasional bumps in the road and keep my energy where it serves me the best - having a good day together.   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Teleseminars in July I know everyone is busy in July.
