From the heart
I
love the opportunity to participate in the success journey with my
wife. If you have been on my list for a while, you know that her leap
in the wonderful world of Direct Selling was the inspiration for the
changes in my life.
I do keep in touch with my former colleagues in the corporate world and, occasionally, do a little consulting.
Once you have a taste of success and the knowledge that you can achieve
anything you open your mind to, you will never be the same again.
As my 27-year corporate IT career wound down last year, I was quite
disenchanted with the industry. I used to be extremely passionate about
applications development and considered myself quite adept at it. Times
changed. To get ahead, you had to put in the extra hours and put up
with whatever management handed down.
Essentially, I felt like I was a small cog in a vast machine. And, I came to the realization that I am not a very good cog.
My occasional contacts with my friends who remained in the corporate
world remind me that I made the right decision. Although most of them
do not say so, I believe they would all love to leave corporate
captivity to pursue something of their own.

Words of Support
Do you feel guilty wanting more support from your partner?
In the 6 years I have been involved with home businesses, I have
personally met way too many women who don’t have the support of
their significant other.
In the Direct Selling profession alone, over 6 million women would like
for their other half to support them more in their business.
In conversation with these great women, they share how they feel like
they are totally alone with making a difference for their family. Their
partner is either not interested or is negative towards her or her
business.
When I followed up with these women to learn more about their support
opportunities, and how coaching would serve them, they have had a
change of heart.
Now, the other half is not such a bad guy and he really does do things
to support her. And, she won’t be pursuing changing
anything.
Why would a woman who was so passionate about desiring more support suddenly change her perspective and settle?
My belief is that they feel guilty even thinking about asking for more from their significant other.
Granted, the guy may be doing many things that are supportive of her
business. Ie: Paying the mortgage or utilities, keeping the cars
serviced, or spending more time with the children. That is all valid
support and must be acknowledged & appreciated.
What about the things that really matter to her? To know that her man
believes in her? To feel like she is not alone on the success journey?
To know that he is proud of her, no matter what?
It is a fact that no woman actually needs a man in order to be
successful. And, that delegating your success to anything outside of
yourself is setting the stage for failure. You will succeed because you
have decided it will be so.
We’re talking about your life and your relationship here.
Essentially, this is an ‘us’ thing and there is nothing to
feel guilty about with regards to wanting to share the journey with
your other half.
You give everybody your best. You deserve the best also.
